Appearance
  • Body is silvery to brassy in color, with a bluish tint
  • Front of head is brown
  • Head rounded, not projecting
  • Blue line present below each eye
  • Corner of mouth is orange
Habitat
Coastal waters to 45 m (150 ft.). They range from Rhode Island to Bermuda, and from the northern Gulf of Mexico to Brazil.
Behavior
Feed mainly on invertebrates.
